CamoTEXtreme is structured around seven work packages that run in overlapping, iterative phases. Management runs throughout; requirements and technology surveys feed into core R&D; integration, testing and producibility close the loop.

Work Package Details

WP 100: Project Management

Leader: PDOT | Duration: 36 months

Coordination of the entire consortium: technical management, project reporting, and dissemination and exploitation of results.

Core tasks:

WP 200: Operational requirements

Leader: WAT | Duration: 6 months

Defines military requirements, operational environments, and sets test protocols and performance metrics.

  • Test procedure definitions

WP 300: Technologies and materials advancements

Leader: FORTH | Duration: 18 months

A deep state-of-the-art survey across sensor threats, camouflage materials, and smart-textile multifunctionalisation.

Core tasks:

  • Nanotechnology for textiles
  • Smart textiles SoA

WP 400: R&D on multifunctional adaptive camouflage

Leader: LIST | Duration: 23 months

Core R&D: new mimetic patterns, advanced formulations for multispectral camouflage, and C4I system interfacing.

WP 500: R&D on systems integration

Leader: UGent | Duration: 21 months

Prototype integration, global proof-of-concept ensembles, and design simulations.

WP 600: Testing and evaluation

Leader: RINA | Duration: 20 months

Lab and field assessment of camouflage efficiency, comfort, and thermoregulation.

Core tasks:
  • Laboratory mechanical tests
  • Manikin trials
  • Field trials (forest/urban)

WP 700: Producibility

Leader: LRT | Duration: 9 months

Manufacturability and industrial scale-up cost studies for finished textile products.
